Korean Daily Life Scenes

Red food tents, chili paste colour washbowls, green oil bottles, or black plastic bags – the accumulation of these daily objects shapes South Korean cultural identity. Between the reviving and nostalgic street sellers, and the politics of comfort and order, where will these landscapes stand?

Korean Daily Life Scenes is a series of South Korean everyday life moments. These snapshots are painted with wavy outlines and flat mat colour fragments, cluttering elements to invite the viewer to look for signs, objects, and gestures in detail.
An ongoing project from 2016.
